Dominic has played Emmerdale veteran Paddy Kirk for over 25 years, making him one of the longest-serving actors on the show. At the moment, the beloved character is trying to support his wife, Chas Dingle (played by Lucy Pargeter), who recently found out that his mother Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter) has terminal cancer. Unfortunately, the bar manager will end up cheating on his spouse in upcoming scenes of the ITV soap opera, but off-screen life couldn’t be more different for the actor, who marked a milestone birthday during the coronavirus lockdown. .

How old is Emmerdale actor Dominic Brunt?

According to the world of weekday drama series, Dominic plays a character who is 53 years old and was born on July 1, 1969.

In the next few weeks, Faith will want to celebrate her son-in-law’s birthday because she thinks this might be the last party she attends.

Going back to real life, the actor is actually a bit younger than his alter ego, as Dominic is only 52 years old, meaning he’s been a part of the show for almost half his life.

The soap opera star celebrates her birthday on April 15, 1970, marking half a decade when the world went into lockdown as a result of the pandemic.

Although Dominic uses social media platforms, he hasn’t told his followers how he marked his birthday this year, but presumably it was with his family and friends.

The last post he made before his birthday on Twitter was telling his 114,400 followers that he had contracted coronavirus on March 29, 2022.

Since the self-isolation period is 10 days, he would have come out of quarantine in time for his birthday this year.

Given her age, this means the soap opera star would have been 27 years old when she joined the cast of Emmerdale 25 years ago.

This is not an uncommon age for actors to join the show, as many of their co-stars became part of the show in their 20s and 30s.

However, Dominic’s screen career began much earlier, as he was cast as a character in The Bill in 1995.

Dominic added: “This was before the video nasty purge so we had free reign. It never did us any harm and we had a ton of laughs.

“It’s the news and Jeremy Kyle that scares me.”

However, despite her love of horror, it seems that 25 years on screen has not yet become a novelty for the soap opera star.

He explained, “I think the typecasting question only addresses soap opera actors. I’ve done enough of a variety of work.

“Cleaning, waitressing, selling at the market, foundry work, bar work, fruit picking, welding, etc. to realize that I have one of the best jobs on earth.

“I’m lucky and I know it. I absolutely love Emmerdale and as long as they have me, I’ll give them everything I have,” he continued.

“It’s long hours and it can be quite stressful, but that’s what I enjoy,” Dominic said before saying whether he prefers acting or directing.

The actor commented, “I prefer acting, but I found a new passion in directing and editing. However, I would never choose to direct and be in something else, ever again.”

“It’s too much to ask of yourself. I’d go back to directing in a heartbeat, but it’s not as immediate as acting. I loved planning the shots and determining the camera positions.

“I watch too many movies and remember the tricks, the ones they use, the favorite scenes, etc., so I had a deep well to draw/steal.”

“Day work allows me to be with television directors every day and I know that the calmer you are in a situation where everyone expects you, the better,” he said.

“If the director is stressed and out of focus, then the crew and cast are out of control.

“I was given this opportunity and I didn’t want to mess it up so I planned it with an inch of her life so I could enjoy and enjoy the process,” she told Horror Channel.

It looks like Dominic is going to be around for a while yet and could be on the show for another 25 years, reaching his 70s.

Emmerdale airs Monday to Friday at 7:30pm on ITV, with an hour-long episode airing on Thursdays.
